The ever great combination of a randomly crashing Macbook and Textmate has caused me to lose all of my writing of yesterday. It wasn't that much, nor was it that brilliant, but it was something I would have liked to hang on to.
I probably forgot to save, but for some strange reason Textmate does not catch my Command-S keypresses (which makes saving a bitch).
That does suck. I talked to LJS, by the way: They can NOT fix an RSD mac while you wait as they need to run a stresstest before apple allows them to sign off on the repair.
If you and it in in the morning, they can give it to you at closing time. Otherwise, it's pick up early next day.
They told me about the day of testing they have to do. Not a big prob if the shutdowns subside.
I've figured out that if I run my Macbook on a desk or table it will not shutdown all day long, but if I watch a movie or do some photo editing in bed it will die like a motherfucker.
General RSD question: Since the firmware update of about a week ago, 0 RSD crashes. My harddrive did decide to crash and burn, but I doubt that was related.
