Macbook Predictable Shutdown

After the random shutdown episodes of the past my Macbook now has entered the more sophisticated era of nonrandom shutdowns.

Normal Mac laptops will go to sleep when their battery is nearly empty. Mine however simply shuts down. This happens usually when the indicator says it still has 10-15 minutes of battery life left.
A similar problem has been reported with Macbook Pros but not with Macbooks yet.
Quite annoying to lose your work if you forget (or are unable to) plug in. LJS didn't have a clue last time I was there. I think I'll pay them a repeat visit and insist they do something about it.

Re: Macbook Predictable Shutdown
I had a nice one: My macbook had the tendency to "hang", and when I then tilted the MB to the right it "unhung". Strangely whenever I just tilted my MB, the combodrive also made a noise as if it wanted to eject a CD/DVD.
Last time I was at LJS to have my topcase replaced, I showed the tech guys there what happened and they were flabbergasted. Strabgely the issue was gone after the repaired the topcase.
Re: Macbook Predictable Shutdown
Unfortunately I too had exactly this same problem. First the motherboard, now this :-s
Luckily for you ::ahem:: your local Mac Store will simply order a new battery for you to replace it.

Re: Macbook Predictable Shutdown
Well, I need to waltz down to LJS as well. I rarely use CDs, but when I do, I have to have another CD to eject the first one, as the bristles that protect the drive's innards are so hard to move that the ejection mechanism can't handle it unless something is already pushing the bristles out of the way. Like a piece of strong cardboard or another cd.
When I sell this macbook, obviously, that won't do.
Re: Macbook Predictable Shutdown
@Erwin: Funny stuff we have the same streak of problems (though my topcase is due for its second replacement as well) but I still wouldn't switch back to a Windows laptop ever.
I'll repost if LJS figures out what to do with my Macbook.
The big problem is of course: Who can wait for rev. IV Mac hardware when you want it right here right now?
