I’m going to The Next Web Conference next week Friday. This conference, organized by the Fleck guys is a good chance to get up to date on the Web 2.0 right here in the Netherlands. Great initiative.

WiFi connectivity at the XTECH conference here in Krasnapolsky is very poor. They have bought a conference wide login for everyone on the commercial network already in place and it is not cutting it.

Yesterday after work on a very sunny flip-floppy afternoon caught the train to Amsterdam with Yun and Redmar.

Just handed in my registrations for both XTECH and Reboot to Marleen here at TOPdesk. Both should come through fine and send me happily off for some conference fun in May and June.

I’m attending the Magnus ‘Power to the People’ seminar this Thursday in Amsterdam. The theme of this seminar fits in perfectly with my Masters project and I thought it would be good to get out and meet some new people, exchange some ideas.

Eind april is er eindelijk weer een bijeenkomst van Web 2.0 mensen in Amsterdam: CocoaDevHouse. Een leuke onconferentie waar veel mensen die actief bezig zijn met Web 2.0 en andere hippe techniek bij elkaar komen om de boel op stelten te zetten.

Ik zit nu in de Balie op de Amsterdam Macworld meetup. Ik zet straks de foto’s online maar je kunt alvast de foto’s van Katie bekijken.

Some guys are planning to hold a Macworld event in Amsterdam which sounds a like pretty neat idea.

Wat mijn toekomstbeeld al een tijdje vertroebelde wordt nu bevestigd. Ik wil best deel uitmaken van de creatieve klasse in Amsterdam, maar dan zou ik ook graag ín die stad willen wonen.

As mentioned before there was a social drink after the Adaptive Path workshop in Amsterdam yesterday. It was great.

I already knew Jesse James Garrett from Adaptive Path was coming to Amsterdam to give a workshop. For a student like me these kind of things have too high price cards attached, but in the recent newsletter there is also the announcement of an open cocktail drink afterwards.

I wrote about the lecture by John Thackara I was going to attend. I went there and it was pretty interesting. My impressions:

I’m reading a lot about sociality and online possibilities lately. Reading articles, blogposts, watching and listening to presentations and just about anything I can get my hands on.

Attending conferences is very cool but it is disproportionally difficult for those people on the wrong side of the pond with limited financial resources (i.e. me).

Niet zoveel om over te schrijven of toch weer wel. Loom weekend achter de rug.

Leuke theater dingen van de zomer. Deze Ivanov in het Amsterdamse Bos bijvoorbeeld.

Erg leuk verslag van Frackers over de handelsdelegatie van Amsterdam naar Californië. Erg belangrijk om een goede relatie te hebben tussen dat blijste, vrijste, high-techste deel van Amerika en ons Amsterdam.

Navertellen van toneel (zeker dit stuk) geeft meestal niet de beste resultaten. Dat ga ik dan ook maar niet proberen maar ik moet iets kwijt over het toneelstuk dat ik vrijdag gezien heb. Ik had de alleen maar positieve minirecensies op Moose gezien. Het stuk “Gilgamesj“ speelt nog maar tot 26 maart dus ik moest snel zijn.

Door tentamens enzo ontzettend lang al niet bij mijn ouders langs geweest. Dat zou ik dit weekend dan maar doen. Ook nog even koffie drinken in de stad maar dat ging niet door.
